    This is a feature of Email servers.

    In order to reduce the amount of spam email delivered we check to confirm that the mail server sending the message exists, is not on a spam blacklist, does not contain a virus, etc.

    The first time our mail server receives a message from someone it performs a greylist check and this can, depending on the server load and the load on the external checking facilities, delay the delivery. From then on, email from that email address should be delivered without the delay.

    The statistics show that up to 80% of email traffic on the internet is junk email. We on average reject more junk email in a day than is delivered in a year and that is only the inbound messages.
